How to Create Labels

WHAT IS A LABEL?

A 'Label' in vision is a descriptor that is applied to an already created Tag. Labels provide more information about the Tagged event or Interval. For more information on Tags, please see our How to Create Tagging Template. Labels can either be a global or specific to a Tag. Global Labels are available to be applied to any Tag during the Tagging process whereas a specific Label is assigned to a specific Tag and is only available for application if the specific Tag is created. There are four types of Labels that can be applied to Tags.

• Text Label - Allows the user to type in a Label
• Number Label - Allows the user to select a number from a key pad.
• Single Select Label - Allows the user to select only one option from a predetermined list of labels
• Multi Select Label - Allows the user to select multiple options from a predetermined list of labels

HOW TO CREATE NEW LABELS 

1. Navigate to the Settings Tab to create new Labels for a project. Ensure you have created all of your Tags beforehand. Please see our How to Create Tagging Template for more information on how to create Tags.

   

2. Click the Tagging Setup tab.

   

3. Click the Labels Tab.

   

4. To add a new Label, click the '+ Add . . .' button in the bottom left corner of the Label Collection box. Select the type of Label that you want to create from the pop up menu.

   

5. A new Label Category will be created in the Label Collection box. From the right column rename the Label from the Label Name text box.

6. Beside 'Global Label', click the box to create a check mark in order to make the label global else leave the box unchecked. Beside 'Show in Tagging', click the box to create a check mark in order to show the global Tag in the Tagging Tab.

   

7. If you created a Single or Multi Select List label you will need to add items to the list. To add an item to the Label, click the '+' button in the bottom left corner of the right column.

   

8. A Untitled List Item will populate in the right column, please rename this item.

HOW TO DELETE A LABEL OR A LABEL LIST ITEM 

1. To delete a Label or a Label list item, select the Label or Label list item from either the left of right column and click the respective '-' button in the bottom left corner of column.

HOW TO ASSIGN A LABEL TO A TAG

Labels that are not global must be assigned to a Tag in order to populate when the Tag is applied in the Tagging Window.  

1. After creating the Label, navigate to the Settings Tab.

2. Click the Tagging Setup tab.

   

3. Click the Tags Tab and then click the Tag you want to assign the Label to.

   

4. From the middle column, click 'Select Labels' and then from the pop up menu select each Label you want to apply to the Tag. 

   

   

5. Click OK.
